Brother Lawrence, a humble Carmelite lay brother, taught us the art of finding God not only in the chapel but at the kitchen sink.

He wrote, “We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God.”

Here’s how to practice the presence of God:

  • Begin the day with intention, offering all to Him.

  • Pause before tasks to invite God’s grace.

  • Turn complaints into prayerful conversation.

  • Repeat a simple phrase like, “Jesus, I trust in You,” during the day.

Over time, even laundry, emails, or washing dishes can become a silent act of love.

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
